If the Russia scandal is nothing but a witch hunt, as President Trump so often says, it's awfully strange that he's going to so much trouble to cover it up.

The defense is "the boy has cried wolf too many times". We've done this song and dance over and over and over in the last 6 months and I have no faith that what the WaPo is reporting on is any more legit than every OTHER time they claimed he was definitively linked to Russia.

Wanting certain details omitted so that Russia-Trump morons and the rest of the media wouldn't demand that Trump be executed for "treason" again is hardly a big deal. The info was already in the hands of those investigating the matter. The public doesn't need to know.

Can't say I agree, if the PotUS is actively trying to cover up something with a LIE the public most definitely needs to know.

Verdict is still out right now, will wait till more information about this comes out.

Interesting tid bit:

http://www.npr.org/2017/07/28/539802914/businessman-paints-a-terrifying-and-complex-picture-of-putins-russia

The so called adoption policy thing is Putin's reaction to the Magnitsky Act, a law that freezes the US assets of some of Putin's people (and probably some of his own assets). Putin has been trying hard to get that repealed. And the lawyer Jr. met with is kind of the lead on that front.

So saying she was just talking about adoption policy isn't just misleading... It also implies some knowledge of the situation.

So they admit trump helped his son craft his response to the meeting. That's bad. That still didn't mean he was colluding with the Russian government during the election. Unless the "Russia scandal" is now anything with the word Russia in it.

Does anyone really think that idiot could hide a Russian collusion? Look, Russia VERY likely interfered. So did Britain, and China, and any other big super power. They probably interfere all the time in each others affairs.

But I do also highly doubt Trump was in collusion with Russia for it. Pretty sure it's just something Russia did on its own.

The article in the original post doesn't claim that Trump himself colluded with the Russian government during the election.

And everything around the Trump campaign's interactions with Russians is the "Russia scandal", even if at no point there is enough evidence to tie Trump specifically to the Kremlin.

The world must look so simple when you ignore all context.

Context like there's still no proof that Trump colluded with Russia to affect the election despite almost a year of digging?

And how in the meantime, proof has arisen showing that news outlets like the Washington Post are shills for the DNC?

Delusion just makes the inevitable fall more painful.

Delusion? Ok, please present the evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to mess with our election.

If you can't, I'm afraid you're the deluded one, champ.

A literal no you won't change anything. I hope youre able to handle whats coming, for your sake.

They are lying to us all about information that either is or isn't important. Whether something happened or not, the fact that they can't tell us the truth is a problem no matter what political party you belong to.

Additionally, the word "smoke" isn't a technical term, it's alluding to the common saying that "there's no smoke without fire". In that metaphor, the smoke is most definitely evidence of there being a fire.

Guess the source of the following:

Evidence, broadly construed, is anything presented in support of an assertion. This support may be strong or weak. The strongest type of evidence is that which provides direct proof of the truth of an assertion. At the other extreme is evidence that is merely consistent with an assertion but does not rule out other, contradictory assertions, as in circumstantial evidence.

But the actual assertion you're trying to make is that Trump worked with the Russian government in order to screw with the election, so you're still left with no supporting evidence.

I don't always have access to the WAPO, but I'll let Trump's prior words sum up the article for me:

"The leaks are real, the news is fake"

Meaning it's another hyped up, highly speculative article based off a minuscule fact. And it's an article that likely mentions other hyped up, highly speculative "stories" from the recent past to paint a picture of Trump definitely colluding with Russian.

Oh, it'd take a while, but it's been 8 months. How much longer are you going to give them before maybe acknowledging they don't have a case?

Context like there's still no proof that Trump colluded with Russia to affect the election despite almost a year of digging?

And how in the meantime, proof has arisen showing that news outlets like the Washington Post are shills for the DNC?

Delusion just makes the inevitable fall more painful.

Are you talking about the heavy fall you took when Trump won the election?

what gets me about the lies is that often times they are either inconsequential or easily verified
like take for example the trans ban tweet. Trump said he talked to his generals, but literally no one knows who he's referring to. even the Pentagon is like "we don't have any record of this"

it's like during the campaign (and still now, really) where he'll make a point and then follow it up with "and I have people call me and tell me 'you know Donald you were so right about that' and so I know I'm right" where most likely there's no one calling him

Let's go through the defense of this step by step
      1. There was no Russian meeting. Fake news.
      2. There was a meeting with a Russian but it wasn't important. Fake news.
      3. There was a meeting with a Russian and Donald Trump Jr was there but it was about adoption not about anything shady. Fake news.
      4. There was a meeting with a Russian and Donald Trump Jr was there and he admitted it wasn't about adoption but it wasn't illegal. It also has nothing to do with Donald Trump. Fake news.
      5. There was a meeting with a Russian and Donald Trump Jr was there and he admitted it wasn't about adoption but it wasn't illegal and Donald Trump may have told him to lie about it but it wasn't illegal. Fake news.

I guess we're just gonna settle down on the "it's not illegal" until someone attempts to charge him with something.
